1981 Pastel and Gesso Drawings by Cecil Touchon
These drawing from 1981 by Cecil Touchon use pastel as a starting point and then fill the rest of the space with gesso. In this way Touchon activates what might otherwise be the background space and bring it in to play where the whites move back and forth between foreground and background.
