Since a lot of my collage work in recent years uses street posters and bill board materials there has been an interest for me in the affichiste artists from France such as Raymond Hains (1926-2005), Jacques Villeglé and the Italian artist Mimmo Rotella.
Based on my experiences of looking at the walls of the Paris streets and subways, it is easy to see the artistic appeal that collage artists and decollage artists were attracted to that became their art. There was also a strong interest in poetry among these artists.
