I’m finally gonna do it. I’m gonna make a stack of (already prepped) cold press water color papers for journal collages, instead of journaling just words.
Yes! Do it. Maybe I should try that too. Seems like it would be cool a dedicated little table or desk that is just the journal table dedicated to only journaling like that maybe with some drawing and writing tools, etc. I might set one up and see how that feels. I actually was looking at a 100 sheets of Dick Blick multi media paper online last night while I was writing to you.
I have done that for years with collage on paper, a big stack of prepared sheets - maybe 20-30 at a time and a big box of collage bits and pieces and then just sit down and work whenever I get a few minutes here and there or all day as time allows.
Right now I am doing that but with small panels and then hanging them on the wall behind me as you have probably noticed in a photo or two. I am grooving on that.
You will have to send me some pictures once you have that up and running.
I think the thing is to have a dedicated set up that is always ready and waiting to reduce friction and resistance. That permanence of location of the work space even if tiny seems to me super helpful - it is always calling to you to come and play. You could probably have the same thing set up in your classroom studio and even have students add stuff to the pages. That would make an interesting book I bet - and a great documentary record.
I appreciate you, Cecil!

So proud of you Lily!
