It all comes together so wonderfully; looking forward to seeing the painting. The connection with you writing in your journal as prose then from that creating a poem is inspiring. Maybe I can try that and since no one will see it, it may be worth a try. Thank you.

Actually, at the end of my journal document I have pages of just random lines of collage material that I collect from whatever I am reading. When I see a phrase or a snippet that appeals to me I copy and paste it into that part of my journal. That way I am always working on a poem instead of just screwing around reading stuff. So there are up to hundreds of randomly collected bits and pieces all unconnected to each other. Then when there is enough I start pulling out things to make a poem from and start the work of arranging them into something that seems to make sense. Most of the time I usually see a theme emerging then I'll follow that, then toward the end I will try to get a beginning, middle and end out of it.

So in this sense, I don't actually write anything, I am just arranging found materials.

Every once in a while I might use my own writings to reshape into a poem but that is uncommon.

Wow, impressive how your mind works and I so see how your writing of poems, or how you get there, and how your art emerges from the found stuff you find go hand in hand. Fascinating to me as I love to know how various artists create and do their thing. Wonder if you ever do workshops for budding or existing artists to teach them ways to overcome blockages. There's many ways for sure but I really like how your mind works for you to create what you do.

There is a 5 day workshop coming up in June of next year in London that I am doing with Les Jones. But if you would help me arrange it I could come down to do one in Houston some time.

That'd be great only I have NO idea how I'd be able to arrange that. There used to be a flier that had all sorts of classes on any subject and a place where to do it but it doesn't exist anymore unfortunately. The only local social site I'm on is NextDoor and I suppose I could put a post on there about it but not sure who would respond as I guess it'd depend on how much you'd charge each person to attend and how many would actually show up. I have a dining room table that could seat about 8 people around it.
