I posted the introduction to Creative Lifestyle one year ago on October 13, 2023. I have spent this last year populating the Touchonian with articles focusing on many of the different angles on this topic with the intention of eventually publishing a book. I have taken most of these articles and put them in a word doc manuscript to see how it is going and currently it is at 200+ pages so I am getting there and I am feeling that the newsletter is well populated with a lot of material at this point. The Touchonian currently has 1,516 subscribers - about 3% have become paid subscribers. Thank you! But it would be great if more people supported the Touchonian with a paid subscription or become a founding member.
To celebrate One Year I am offering a 40% discount on annual subscriptions (use this link only) through November 13th. So, a great time to become a contributing subscriber to help support the production of this publication.
From the beginning of 2024, every month one of these articles is published as the last article in Contemporary Collage Magazine out of the UK. I am happy about that.
Workshop Coming Up
Next summer 2025 Les Jones of Contemporary Collage Magazine and I will be doing a one week workshop in London similar to the Collage Safari we did together in Brooklyn earlier this year.
If you are interested in joining us send Les a note at hello@contemporarycollagemagazine.com to be on the list and get the details.
Another thing I have done recently is to remove the paywall from the Touchonian so that all articles are all freely available all the time. see…
The Coming Year 2024/25
So now I am thinking about year 2 starting today. And I would like your help in shaping what the coming year will look like in terms of upcoming articles. So I am going to ask you to click on the survey below to help give me an idea about how you might like to see things go.
I do intend to post something now and then in all of the different categories like Collage Poetry, Ontological Museum, and news and video or audio material several times a month. And I have started a section for my exploration of Visual Musicality as you may have noticed which eventually will be another book.
Check out and buy my books here.
In the comments section please let me know what you are thinking about the articles I am writing for artists, if they are helpful, useful, etc. Please suggest issues that you as an artist are struggling with or related things that you would like to hear more about from my perspective as a government certified old master (I get Social Security and Medicare so I am at least certified as old). Let me know if you feel like you are getting too many or too few posts or if you are pretty happy with how often you hear from me.
Of course, if you are like me, I just delete emails I don’t have time to read with the idea I can check out the articles on the Touchonian or other Substack publications online but I like knowing by email there is a new article when it comes out.
Your articles have really helped me as they remind me of things I need to think about. I have a "Cecil Touchon" file on my desktop and will refer to specific articles about inspiration, process, procrastination, studio organization, etc. I'd love to have a physical hard copy book of all these essays as I'd see it as a 'guide for the artist' about all sorts of subjects.
