Palette to Palate event at the Laguna Art Museum raises a record $335,000+

On Friday, June 9, 2017 Laguna Art Museum’s annual Palette to Palate event raised more than $335,000. Funds from the sold-out event, now in its 12th year, support the museum’s dedication to collecting and preserving California art, providing critically acclaimed exhibitions, and enhancing art education programs for students in Orange County.

The evening featured fine art by ten artists and an incredible dining experience for an intimate group of 120 guests. Executive Chef Craig Strong of Studio at Montage Laguna Beach prepared an exquisite three-course menu paired with limited production wines from Kamen Estate Wines.

Impeccable taste extended to the table scapes

The ten participating artists – Mark Beck, Kristina Grace, Adam Mars, Danny McCaw, Courtney Murphy, Glynnis Reed, Jeff Sewell, Doug Shoemaker, Fred Stodder, and Cecil Touchon – joined guests for dinner at tables of their own design. They were surrounded by their artwork on gallery walls, creating an interactive and intimate experience for guests who enjoyed the opportunity to learn about the artists’ creative processes and techniques during lively dinner conversations.

Exclusive silent auction items were popular

In addition to the opportunity to acquire works of art in support of the museum, guests raised their paddles for a live auction of exclusive experiences to raise additional funds for museum education programs.

The auction opportunities included a luxury escape to the Montage Kapalua Bay in Maui, a Sonoma wine excursion featuring Kamen Estate Wines, an exclusive Tesla factory tour and luxury weekend in Northern California, and special culinary experiences with Chef Strong at Studio. The $335,000 total for the evening is a record for Palette to Palate, and will provide important funding for the museum’s art education outreach programs for students in Laguna Beach and Orange County.
